Tobias Bijl (1981) is a Dutch, Rotterdam-based documentary photographer. After a study Philosophy, he studied at the Fotoacademie in Amsterdam where he graduated in May 2017.
His work is focused on the transformation of society and its environment as a result of historical events, investigating the limitation of the collective memory and the repeating history. In research-based projects he uses his own photography in combination with footage and archival material to ask questions.
