Ulka Chauhan lives and works between Zürich, Mumbai & Goa. Her passion for photography triggered by a workshop in Masai Mara Nature Reserve, Kenya in 2019. Since then her work has been published on Leica blogs and print magazines as well as in arts / humanities / photography websites. She has participated in exhibitions in Zürich, Mumbai, Venice and Treviso. Her work has been awarded by Leica Fotografie International, International Photo Awards and Tokyo International Foto Awards. She is an active member of the Swiss Street Collective and a co-editor of its blog. Her book titled Two Worlds (featured in Condé Nast Traveller magazine) is an exploration that contrasts and connects the linear and structured world of Switzerland and the cyclical and chaotic world of India. Born in Mumbai, Ulka studied in India, Switzerland and the US and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance and Economics from Babson College in Boston. She previously worked in advertising at Young & Rubicam on Madison Ave, NYC and at Rediffusion Y&R in Mumbai before embarking on her journey into photography. Ulka is the sum of all her parts; being rooted on two grounds contouring her identity and compassionate world view. Her camera is the lens through which she sees the world, and in the process, herself.
