About Valérie Lilette

I have been living in Paris for 19 years.
After a passage through the faculty of plastic art of Rennes II, I turned to sociology and anthropology, always with a camera under my arm. With a doctorate in anthropology from the University of La Reunion (2007), I have been interested for more than 20 years in the relationship between man and his environment and the changes it implies for the populations. My fieldwork in Mali, Comoros and Madagascar and Mauritania, have constantly analyzed the conflicts of use related to environmental projects and highlighted the strategies and adaptations of local communities. I have been able to valorize this research work thanks to two documentary films of which I am co-author.
Following this experience, I devoted myself for more than 10 years to raising awareness of a large public to current social issues, primarily on environmental and climate issues in partnership with research laboratory.
My reconversion as a professional photographer since April 2021 allows me to reconcile the work of investigation linked to the reportage and the sensitization of a large public concerning the transformations implied by the climatic disturbe.
