The everyday has always been an interesting and magical subject for me. As a photographer I have found that it is a complicated subject to address, because it represents the effort to break the natural tendency to take for granted that reality is ordinary, and in some ways, it is, but not always. It’s also hard because once you start to value it you are at risk of romanticizing it to make it seem as little normal as possible.
That’s why my work lies in the contemplation of the everyday, that which is found in a liminal state, between the ordinary and the beautiful. I try to look for harmony between these two poles, to find the beauty of the ordinary and the ordinary of beauty.
