The series 'panoramic distortion experiments' is an ongoing project, pushing the technical possibilities of an iphone beyond limits, allowing technical errors, artefacts and coincidences to happen and create special athmospherical compositions and images of a world that is increasingly falling apart but that celebrates the beauty in the process.

The idea: Pictures that turn into nothing. I.e. pictures that I would probably have sorted out of the film developments I had received in the analogue age... Dealing with old camera technology, Exacta Varex IIb, (also with mechanical defects) without further experience and the use of the superimposed material (the films are from earlier Asian stocks, have been through heat, humidity, drought, refrigerator...) bring coincidence, unplanned incidences of light, discolourations in the pictures. I noticed I should have a personal, emotional connection to the chosen locations/landscapes. In the case of the Harz mountains, the dramatic change, "erasure" of the Harz, with which I grew up with, is the main focus. The magical spruce resin no longer exists any more, or only at certain points. What about it was/is nature, what cultural influence etc... photographed analogue (2020), scanned in high resolution (2021), processed as little as possible (2023), printed digitally pigmented inkjet print, 80 x 120 cm, limited edition
