About Andreas Trampe

Andreas Trampe worked as a freelance photographer for German
newspapers and magazines in the 1980s. From 1991 to 1996, he was
head of the picture desk at "Bild am Sonntag". In 1996, he became a
picture editor at "Stern" magazine. He worked there for almost 28 years
as a picture editor and "Director of Photography“. He is one of the
founders of the „Stern-Young Photography“ program, which each year
gives one student a one-year staff photographer position at the magazine
after graduation. He left Stern in October 2024. Andreas Trampe is the co-
founder and organizer of Hamburg Portfolio Review, a member of the
German Photographic Society (DGPh) and has been working for the
German Photographic Council ("Deutscher Fotorat“) since 2025.
