Balthasar Marie Ludovic Carduelis is an Argentina-based visual artist and a student of architecture. His work appropriates the tropes of art history and European tradition to resituate contemporary narratives within the corpus of visual culture.
No artistic movement or style has escaped the politics of power. By adopting the visual language of the Western Tradition, Carduelis problematises problematisation, prompting reflection on the potential pitfalls of overemphasis, serving as a gentle reminder that even progressive 21st-century perspectives can inadvertently veer towards totalitarianism.
He is currently in third year at the National University of La Plata within the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism.
