The photographer Tomoaki Makino takes a fresh view of the middle-aged Japanese
women of his mother's generation by inviting them to pose for his first book.
Remembering their youth, the ladies are living in their sanctuary gracefully, coquettishly
and sometime boldly, as if they are playing the heroines of a soap opera.
