I am interested in daily life and culture .My masterpiece, which is called “TOKYO SOAP OPERA,” is inspired by my mother. I takes pictures of middle-aged women in their own rooms living in and around Tokyo. In the photos, I direct their posing and compositions. The room itself is nothing changed from their daily lives; however, they seem to be acting on a stage because of their positions. That makes strange space in the pictures. As a series, I make “ DAYDREAM.” It is based on the same concept as “TOKYO SOAP OPERA” but taken in NYC. I photographed racially diverse middle-aged women from different cultures, and religions.
