About David Manski

David Manski is a trained conservation biologist who worked for 35 years with the US National Park
Service and consulted internationally on protecting parks and nature reserves. Now retired, he remains an
active and keen documentarian, recording his surroundings through observation, engaging in citizen
science activities, and photography. David is most inspired by the light, shapes, stories and complexities
that he sees in our human-built environment. Through his photographs, he seeks to document the beauty
and mystery of the people, culture, and nature of where he lives and the places he visits.
