I was born in Saint Lambert, Quebec, Canada; trained as an architect at McGill University in Montreal, emigrated to the United States; licensed as an Architect in California and worked both there, in San Francisco, and in New York City (periodically) as an architect for many years while also doing photography. I have lived in Manhattan since 1967 (thanks to a rent controlled apartment) am a naturalized American Citizen; self trained as a photographer, while learning from those whose published work I loved.
From 2008 - 2021 I was a contributor to the Alamy Agency based in England. The 4000 + pictures (accepted) are still out there for sale as stock .
I also worked as freelance event photographer from 1979 to 2008 for the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Earlier, I photographed a number of years for the Writers' Voice (midtown Y); also for the Academy of American Poets and the NY Architectural League.
In these images, I attempt to capture the humanity and intellect of the person.
