About Enver Ethemer

Enver Ethemer is an Independent Researcher and
Co-Founder of Envision Diversity, an LGBTI organisation in
north Cyprus. Enver has been active in Initiative Against
Homophobia where he advocated for de-criminalising homosexuality
as well as in other civil society organisations in
north Cyprus. His work mainly focuses on raising awareness
and advocating for LGBTI rights, gender equality, sexual
health, and human rights for disadvantaged group and has
delivered many seminars, speeches, trainings and conferences
on the same topics. Enver has also edited three different
LGBTI issues, 2011, 2014 and 2015, published for IDAHOT
Day in a weekly newspaper supplement called Gaile. He has
also managed various projects on LGBTI rights, gender in different
countries as well as managed two campaigns on sexual
health. He has been instrumental in developing the pilot
project on sexual education and sexualities at high school
which was later on turned into an Ombudsman Inquiry initiated
by Envision. He has been active on several gender- and
rights-based groups in the north. His research focus mainly
focuses on broader areas of gender and sexualities.
