Hans Hochstöger was born and educated in Austria. During his studies of petroleum engineering, he traveled frequently to Brazil, and started to communicate his experiences by using photography. Following his interest, he left the petrol industry, and studied audiovisual media in Vienna, Austria.
Hans is based in Vienna, Austria, and Istanbul, Turkey. Alongside his client work, he focuses on long-term projects, studying how humanity deals with The Other. His diverse photographic projects have been exhibited at festivals and galleries all over Europe.
Currently Hans is working on “The Silence Of The Old Ones” – a film documentary about a mass murder in his hometown, and “Turkey, A Tale Of Two Countries” – a foto project about the change happening in Turkey in the last years. Hans is represented by Agentur Focus in Hamburg.
