I started photographing when I was fifteen years old, inspired by the beautiful photographs my father had taken 25 years earlier of the island where we lived. Via hobbies in the arts - playing the violin, singing in choirs and ballet performances, photography became my main focus. I moved to London in 2007 and started photographic studies at Westminster College, where I gained a Foundation Degree in photography, from there I continued to pursue a BA in Photographic Arts within University of Westminster. Inspired by the work of Sebastião Salgado I completed postgraduate studies in photojournalism and gained an MA from the University of Westminster. I chose photojournalism as a format of photography that I consider to have the power to influence, but also functions as a form of artistic expression. Photographs have been exhibited in both Finland and England.
