About Kerry Curl

Kerry Curl is a UK based award winning photographic artist working with photography, and exploring moving image and installation.

Fusing genres, she works at the intersection of portraiture, fashion and documentary. Her practice frequently draws on the influence of the past in today’s world to question the idea of nostalgia, sustainability and consumerism.

A firm believer in creativity with purpose, she is a long term fan of vintage and secondhand clothing and has long been creating imagery using and reusing these items within her work.

Kerry's achievements include receiving a seed commission to create a new multimedia installation project for The Norwich Fringe Festival 2021,completed a research and development artist residency at the Norwich Shoe Factory and was invited to show work from her 'This is Not Nostalgia?' project at the Norwich Science Festival 2021 Hello Future Fashion exhibition. Kerry also achieved winning image status for the British Journal of Photography’s Portrait of Britain in 2017 and 2019, was a finalist for the Graduate Fashion Week Fashion Photography Award 2017 and reached the finals of the the AOP Student Awards 2017.
