Olga Steinepreis lives in Freigericht, Germany. In 2022-2023 she studied at The School of Photographic Arts by Elena Sukhoveeva and Viktor Khmel (Krasnodar,Russia). In 2023, she was awarded a study grant by the Academy of Documentary and Art Photography Fotografika. She graduated from the program in 2025, successfully defending her diploma project.
She became a finalist and category winner in many competitions e.g. Kolga Tbilisi Awards 2026, The 2024 Feature Shoot Emerging Photography Awards, 79th College Photographer of the Year competition, Photometria Awards 2024 "Constructed Realities", Exposure Photo Awards One Shot 2024, The Independent Photographer Portrait 2024, Kuala Lumpur Int. Photoawards 2023, Life Framer Open Call 2023/Youth and Human Body 2024, The Prix de la Photographie, Paris (PX3) 2023, Lensculture Black and White Photography Awards 2022 and others. One of her projects was shortlisted by the Bar-Tur Photo Awards. Her works were exhibited in New York (USA), Paris (France), Munich (Germany), Kuala Lumpur (Malaisia) and other cities.
Her projects have been featured in It's Nice That, The F-Stop Magazine, the print edition of Dodho Magazine, and other international publications.
In her works Olga reflects on motherhood and childhood through self-portraits and photos of her family members. She also explores identity, belonging, gender roles, status of women in contemporary society, based on her personal experience.
Olga is currently working on a photobook dummy for her latest project.
