The photographic essay "Paris-Rio" is a benevolent and sympathetic look at the "trottoir" of the transvestites occupying the "Murada da Glória", a place located between the streets of Gloria and Augusto Severo, both leaning on the "Paris Square" a green public garden. This site, with its charming and historic architecture, was once a hot spot for the fashionable belle époque and became a spectacular backdrop for transgenders. These have frequented the place since the middle of the 20th century and have become a local attraction and are part of the urban, bohemian and transgender legend of Rio de Janeiro.
Using a camera in Infra red mode the photographer captures the night light and sensual atmosphere of Rio's warm nights. Stephan sees the trottoir as a ballet, a choreography where gestures, poses, used costumes, timing, dynamics Body and the territory in which they position carry a series of nonverbal codes where the dolls communicate with their audience, making a seductive performance to their clients.
This photographic essay is also about the perfumed and sensual night of the streets of the old center of Rio, presenting the transgender face of the wonderful city, which at the same time attacks and kills transvestites or else profits from the sex trade, exporting transvestites to the rest of the world.
