United States of Siberia

Those photographs documents the everyday life of a group of former prisoners and drug addicted. They now work and live together in a charitable rehabilitation centre. In some cases, the heroin and crocodile, a drug widespread in Russia which accelerates the physical decay drastically, had led many of them into a spiral of self destruction. In other cases, after having served sentence, some men try to redirect their lifes. That is how they have join "Freedom". Freedom was founded by a Canadian pastor and, through christian orthodox values, tries to rehabilitate those men. However, this new way of life strictly focused in religion, may put some limits to the freedom of the individuals. The series United States of Siberia has originated in July, 2013 in a village near the southsiberian city, Nowokusnezk in Russia
