Commemmoration of the Armenian Genocide in Nagorno Karabach

In april 2015 I travelled to Nagorno Karabach, inhabited by an Armenian population, to work on a story about this self proclaimed state which has no international recognition. On 24th of april I witnessed the yearly commemmoration of the genocide in 1915 on the Armenian population in what is now Eastern Turkey. It was a special occasion this year because of the centennial of the genocide. Besides the rising tensions last months with Azerbajjan - who has a claim on the territory of Nagorno Karabach - added an extra present-day aspect to the ceremony
