My recent work explores the construction of identity in connection with place and culture. Using my own roots growing up in Bolivia, my images investigate questions about how the inner world of self creates a vision of the external world, how we construct our reality through our identity and how we can exist separate from interpretations of ourselves and of interpretations of the physical world that we experience through sense-perception. In less abstract terms, my recent work explores how childhood, worries, body, imagination and self-awareness work to manipulate our understanding of the self and of the world.
