Being from a northern climate, I adore dining alfresco when the weather permits. I am often spotted pointing my camera phone at the glass wear on the table to capture the small, inverted environments, rearranged by the shape, thickness, and color of the surrounding glassware. As an artist who arrived at photography from abstract painting, I am interested in the abstraction of our surroundings and the beauty that can be found in these small reflections. I find these images to be a much needed visual respite in this era of ever-increasing demands on our time and the constant drone of bad news.
