These photos were taken in Australia’s Northern Territory. A remote and beautiful place with harsh conditions. These corridors portray the hedge that these prisoners were trapped in. Mirrors bolted to plain walls convey reflections, some broken, some shattered like the people who were looking into them. A captive to four walls and a peephole in most cases to see only a sliver of light yet your captor could see you through many views of that peephole. As I walked through these corridors that are now a memory of what was I could only think of the people who were housed here and the people around the world who are still held in by walls of societal injustice. Life is about perspective and choices and through these photos I hope we can see what some perspectives look like.
