This series reflects the western society as I see it. Each photograph represents a part of the whole.
'The Builders' being those who create, maintain and modify things, powered by individual success, family and our relation with others. These elements are captured in 'The Prestige', 'The Family' and 'The Bindings', respectively. Two elements remain to facilitate the work: 'The Fuel' and 'The Commitment'. The former I describe mostly as consumption in any form, which drives most of our interactions with others, and the latter as the (implicit) social contract we signed to be involved together in such enterprise.
The idea of 'The Construction' emerged with The Builder, the first photograph I took in this series. This picture is central as it reflects most of the message above on its own, both visually and conceptually. Visually, it illustrates to me how humans coexist in complex scenarios powered by either common or individual interests, which I attempt to capture in 'The Prestige' and 'The Commitment'. From the conceptual perspective, the picture is central for it is The Builder who creates. Which leads to the thinking that the entire Construction is a function of the builder's nature. In other words, understanding The Builder's nature helps in understanding other things in society as the origin of these things can be traced back to ourselves.
This series is not a criticism. It is a distillation of how I understand this topic.
