"For the damaged CoDa" is a body of work that is still in progress. We started working on this brief a year ago. Initially, we were interested in exploring visual relationships between people - arranging the subjects in a way
to interact with each other and with the negative space between them. While we have been developing this work we also considered the potential symbolism, related to relationships between people.
All the poses we use are inspired by the people we see around us interacting with each other, or with us. Sometimes it is a parent with their child or a young couple.
Our process is to invite the models come to our studio and most of the times they meet each other for the first time. We brief them for the project and then we let them interact in casual ways before we start directing them.
Although this project is still evolving, we have learned a lot by doing it. It has helped us become better photographers, lighting technicians and most importantly directors. It has been an exciting journey with unexpected turns.
