Brexit has rarely been out of the news headlines since the summer of 2016, yielding a constant flow of stories about political haggling and high-level negotiations regarding Britain’s departure from the EU on January 31st 2020.
Meanwhile, British people are coming to terms with what Brexit will actually mean for them. Among them British passport holders who have lived in the Netherlands for many years.
Building careers and raising families, they now face uncertainty based on the referendum’s 52 per cent majority vote to leave the EU. Yet these individual stories rarely, if ever, are in the news. While there is no threat to their residential status in the Netherlands, these British mothers are unnerved by the lack of clarity.
