I’ve come to understand how extremely powerful personal stories are. Immersing myself in photography and filmmaking as well as studying international affairs and media, focusing in the work of human rights, strengthened my interest in the relationship between existence, cultural production, political agency, and visuality. We live in a world of representations. The idea that the image and media intersect art, science, and documentation has raised important questions in human history about ethics and the ambiguous function of a tool that has accompanied colonialism, war zones, medical and criminal investigations, tourism, and globalization. Visual narrations build a new space that ratifies what Alain Resnais incites in Night and Fog: "the crucial interrogation of our own responses."
