For a long time, I’ve photographed portraits of people and textures from the communities around me. Portraits because I love capturing the essence of people... And surfaces because it takes the focus off life to find beauty in small details. Merging texture photography and portraiture gives me the creative freedom to be conceptual and abstract in my photography approach. This unique point of view speaks to the awareness of the world around me. It is sparking a memory of nostalgic self-identity through layers of pictures from the city. This way of storytelling is vague enough to allow you to imagine freely, forming stories of pride, relationships, love, and loss.
