Chrysaliis or Chrysalilida – process of dissolution of the cocoon (pupa) where the larva dissolves or breaks the cocoon and emerges in another state.
In the life of butterflies, chrysalis represents the third stage (egg, caterpillar, chrysalis and butterfly). The stages to which the human being is conditioned, in turn, are 4 (child, adolescent, adult and elderly) and their metamorphosis and transformations (emotional, intellectual and psychic) are numerous. This series seeks to metaphorically represent the rupture of the bark that at the same time protects and cushions the pains of the world, isolates and removes... The breakup does not occur without pain or trauma (fire), and only happens in the encounter and interaction with the other.
"Deep down, that is it, loneliness: to get involved in the cocoon of our soul, make ourselves chrysalis, and wait for metamorphosis, because it always ends up coming."
- August Strindberg
