Colombia is a place that has been marked by the scars of war for more than 50 years. Traveling in the country is not advised, People always tell us not to explore too much because one can be easily robbed, kidnapped, raped or killed for entering the so-called "Red Zones". They
are places that the so-called "Farc". The Revolutionary armed forces of Colombia control as the mountains as their main routes are there.
Danubio is a place hidden back in the mountains, its located along the road that connected the south-eastern with the pacific coast. The road is long and difficult. It's a place greener than anything I had ever seen, the mountains are tall and seem as if they were moving as the vegetation is so abundant, the river thunders its way through the villages that rest right by the edge. Water drips from the walls of the mountain. After a hike near the main village, A waterfall makes way to turquoise waters. It's truly a magnificent place.
The main question whilst I visited this place was "is it true?" we are so caught up in the myths of war that we stopped enjoying freedom. Although I noticed that it was a place that had been forced to create some sort of urbanism within the jungle. Forcing locals to live as if they are living in big cities and have acquired the need to be part of the globalization phenomenon. It's strange to look at the morphosis from farmer to a citizen. But it sure contradicts the war psychosis we have in our country. But also arises the question of how colonization is still happening and alienating our locals with foreign ideologies of commodities.
