Recent SCP (The Netherlands Institute for Social Research ) research on gay acceptance shows that members of the LGBT community are only tolerated if none of their sexuality is visible in the public space. "Female" gays and "male" lesbians and others who do not want to meet traditional gender standards are excluded in all sorts of ways. After their coming-out, many make cramped attempts to distance themselves from "foolish" and "effeminate" behavior. The men in this series are committed to gay acceptance in all sorts of ways. In clothing from the collection "Indifferent Nude" by designer Hedwig Vervoort, they show their feminine side.
