These are the scenes I see as I travel the roads and streets where I have been working in Kenya for the past 25 years. Traveling thru the streets of Nairobi Eastlands, deep into the Mathare Valley within the city limits of Nairobi, down to the Maasai Southlands and up north to Samburu. Within a few hundred miles, lifestyles changes so drastically one could be traveling thru time, watching the country's history unfold. But change comes too quickly for many Kenyans and they struggle to hold tight to their culture and identity. At times, money comes, change take place, and then, as if a sink hole gobbles it up, things are back to where they were. Leaving Kenyans to wonder if their country will even pull itself up out of poverty. Meanwhile they live, somehow content, in the beauty that is all around them, even in the worst of conditions.
