iland

The images are part of my photopoetic "Iland" series, where is investigated the relationship between photography and poetry and the role of photopoetry in contemporary photography, by exploring the concept of the 'Iland', with the metaphorical meaning of homeland. This concept is inspired by two monumental poems: Greek poet, Constantine P. Cavafy’s 'Ithaka' and Homer’s epic 'Odyssey'. By layering analog and digital photos and video stills related to my personal journey to "Ithaka", a series of photopoems were created. It is a journey to my home, to photopoetry, where I always return to express myself poetically.
