The funambulist fell to earth, her legs trailing behind her like the kite strings of a plummeting kite. As she fell, her body thickened. How heavy it was. How cumbersome, and where was her rope?

The fox was playing a game he liked to play, jumping in and out of himself in a mindless sort of way, when she came tumbling out of the sky and landed with a bump at his feet.
