In my project, The Unveiling, I explore family and self through pictures and memorabilia.
I was in “shelter in place” and had the opportunity to go deep with myself, in my now small limited world and delve into who I am and who and what has influenced my life. I used old photographs as both catalysts (prompts) and subjects in this body of work.
It was entirely intuitive … and as I look back fascinating to see what I was attracted to and how I chose to group items to tell my visual stories. I was viewing these items from a new perspective, from my more mature self … with many new life experiences effecting my lens and interpretation.
