2019-2020 ~ Reggio Calabria, Italy
Along with dumps I found
scattered everywhere throughout the city,
there are portraits of my friends’ children.
Discarded toys trace a direction
toward the inevitable disaster
we are imposing on the generations of tomorrow.
This is the present of their future.
The Present Future is the first of two projects about the degradation and waste emergency in Reggio Calabria, my hometown.
While the other project, DifferenziAMOla, investigates the condition of the city and some of the stories that revolve around it, this work, through a more conceptual approach, is oriented to raise awareness on the issue of waste and the consequences of our daily behaviors.
