Pre-COVID

Between 2016 and 2019 I had the fortunate opportunity to travel extensively. around the globe., though frequently I was travelling solo. Before 2020 travel was easy but as a result of the excitement of arriving somewhere new soon start to diminish with hotels a comfortable and safe place to stay. Photography became a reason to venture out, to explore and once again feel excited about travel. While taking these images, I would set often with no plan nor direct, simply seeing where my camera would take me. No photo in this series was taken with the pre-consent of the subject. While some people would shy away, in most cases it opened up real conversations with real people who otherwise I would never have met. It was a project that not only rekindled my love of photography but of travel. Sitting in 2021, with limited opportunity to leave the house, never mind country, it is a project that reminds me of the world, the people in it and their stories.
