I photograph and make films with my family on both sides of the ocean. My home in Syracuse NY, in the USA where I live with my immediate family, and the apartment of my parents in Bratislava, Slovakia, where I am originally from, are my “studios”. I try to photograph joy and peace, but often capture exhaustion and pain. These past two years three elders in our family “departed” and at the same time our two once “small” sons have become grownups. Images help me to remember and to reflect … and possibly to heal.
