Is it a coincidence that the onset of the lockdown coincides with a pregnancy? A beautiful and delicate event, like the light that gradually entered my life and that of my partner.
I tried to analyze the moment in its multiple meanings, moving between suggestions and documentation, trying to give a familiar sign and capturing the iconographies of birth.
The need to protect ourselves from Covid-19 makes us accept a different form of time by discovering our different, living, talking houses, and where gestures acquire wider meanings than normal everyday life gives them back to us.
Investigating all aspects of my life at that moment I caught the sense of attention and protection, the abandonment of the paternal home, the desire for freedom that grew in the lockdown, the expectations, the fragility.
And so I observed that pregnancy is a universal human language, we are all fetuses inside a womb, whether it is an amniotic envelope or our homes in time of lockdown, cyclically and inevitably ready to be born.
