Photography gives me the power to recognize and see the beauty of the people, places and objects as they are. The Covid period has put me in a dark place but also made me see the world in a different way. Out of the darkness I was strongly attracted to the play of light. I took long walks and consciously got lost in the hectic bustle of the city. As a observer I distanced myself from that bustle and went in search of the tranquil beauty present in the silhouettes and figures that I encountered. The images are therefore intended rather symbolically from a recognition of the universal human soul. Details about origin, status, function in society are minimally present.
"When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence." - Ansel Adams
