Before the Fall - Afghanistan 2021

This series was shot in Kabul, Afghanistan, between August 9th and 15th, the final days before the Taliban fully seized the country. Despite the darkness quickly rising over the horizon, the people I encountered in those final days were warm and generous. If only the world had been so kind to them. I didn't know them for more than a minute, and I don't know their fates now, but I do know they deserved better.
