This series is a study of texture and form in nature. I have long had a fascination with movement. Back in the mists of time, I was a professional dancer so movement has been a theme in my life for many years. Here, I bring it to my photography. Whether the movement comes from the moving subject or the camera (ICM), I am interested in the lyrical and delicate patterns and textures created by it.
I began long exposure work during the Covid pandemic which resulted in the various social/cultural restrictions of lockdown. During this time, as life slowed for many, pockets of reflective time became part of the daily norm. The ‘captured’ movement in the images had an ethereal quality that seemed to reflect the deceleration of our lived lives.
