Oscuridade is a series about resilience. A collection of sensations illustrating the painful path behind an addiction recovery. The perception of being alone in a dark room while the sun is shining outside. The euphoric naivety from the first sober moments. Relapses. Recoveries. And the acceptation of cold light of the eternal surveillance. The names of the images are neologisms created over words coming from the Portuguese language. Following the order: Oscuridade, Obstácala, Sobrierbânia, Recaída, Pontilhaume, Passombra, Cuidalína, Libertá. The images were made between 2017 and 2018 over different countries. They have not any edits or post-productions and were made with the camera set as monochrome and a polarised filter.
