"There is a leak of reality as an internal coherence of a limited universe, once the limits of this universe recede into infinity".
Jean Baudrillard. Simulacra and Simulations
Modern cosmology undermines our intuitive conceptions about the world: visible matter represents only a tiny fraction of matter in the Universe, the nature of the rest is still not fully determined. According to the concept of the Multiverse, our universe is only one of an infinite number of fundamentally inaccessible worlds. Therefore, you cannot believe your eyes. Now everything exists or can exist.
It is extremely difficult to incorporate this new knowledge in your reality, it cannot be checked on personal experience, you cannot see or touch it. And so it flickers somewhere on the border, like something you see in peripheral vision. Our modern view of the world became another myth, which is of a dual nature: on the one hand it helps to cope with disproportionate, but on the other hand, it offers just to believe something without really understanding it.
A. F. Losev in his book "The Dialectics Of Myth" beautifully conveys this feeling: "I was on the ground, under the native sky, listened to the universe... And then suddenly nothing, no land, no sky... Somewhere kicked in the neck, in a kind of emptiness...". Humanity discovers almost infinite space, but it shrinks a human to the size of an atom and presses back to the ground. Nothing, neither the planet nor the house can no longer serve as a shelter.
