As a street photographer I am struck by the number of times that I have happened upon ceremonies associated with weddings which take place in very public settings. I'm also struck by the range of emotional responses that accompany these situations by both those participating in the ceremonies and those who are merely (like myself) bystanders, from celebratory joy or simple fascination to ennui. For myself, the experience is always a joyful one, like discovering an agate while walking on a beach.
