Lay down with me

Cyanotype series “Lay down with me” is a collaboration between nature and human. Natural elements are not just an object or theme in front of the camera, but, same as the human body, they are the medium and the technique. The imprint of the body interacts with the natural elements on the photosensitive paper and, left in the sun, highlights its contours with blue shades. The saturated blue shade of the cyanotype is the colour of dreams and nostalgic sadness, echoing the creative process as a search for understanding and longing for reconnection. The human body becomes a part of nature. Part of the forest, moss, water, earth and roots. Electricity travels through the body, when the naked skin touches the ground. A physical connection and grounding - it receives energy from the unseen depths. For a moment, the surrounding chaos is not visible or audible. The earth absorbs my heaviness, whispers away my burden.
