In this series, I photograph Meissen porcelain and rooted earth. With an immigrant view influenced by the various collections I have been visiting in Saxon museums, I seek a new ritual, like that of tea, of connection.
The Meissen Manufaktur has been producing porcelain since the 18th century, reflecting even an enthusiastic Europe about the stimulating drinks that came from far away. A manner of converting nature into culture: the transformative and symbolic power of the earth raw material that, turned into porcelain, can come to represent, painted on its surface, the earth flowering itself. May we then be more fruitful.
