This project is about Haitian migration. Haitians immigrants from the earthquake that hit his country four years ago come to Brazil in search of a new life on the road to face mafias, months of waiting at the border and very difficult to find employment. Initially move within their country, and later moved to the Dominican Republic, where they work and live in the buildings where they work workers , exploited and cheated in many cases, since the work to culminate not pay them their wages , some immigrants continue their route to South America , their final destination is Brazil, since the Brazilian government announced the provision of hosting thousands of Haitians took to them a route from Port au Prince or Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic , and leads them by Panama , Ecuador and Peru to the Brazilian Amazon frontier This irregular flow is used by smugglers or " coyotes " who charge between $ 2,000 to $ 6,000 to take from Haiti to Brazil .
This project was initiated in 2010 in Haiti on my first visit to this country to meet a voodoo ceremonies that year and continue the theme in Dominican Republic with Haitians living and working in the contrucion , then in 2012 and 2013 in the department of Madre de Dios in Peru bordering Brazil and continue with the project in Iñapari shelter where some 200 Haitians were waiting to cross the border.
