Due to the ministerial measures related to the Covid-19 health emergency, people living in nursing homes found themselves in isolation. Since the beginning of 2020 and for several months, the only possible contacts with their families were exclusively virtual.
Relationships and personal issues have been put to the test and the resulting feelings are multiple and delicate. Furthermore, for the most compromised patients, the distance from their loved ones has caused a deterioration in their psychophysical conditions.
The Honegger Foundation, a non-profit organization, is located in Albino - Valle Seriana, one of the Italian regions most affected by the pandemic between February and April. Last summer and during the Christmas holidays, the residential home for Alzheimer’s sufferers opened the doors to family and friends, setting up a safe meeting area. A long-awaited occasion, before the day they will be able to hug and kiss each other. They badly need it.
