Up and Coming

The 5 Street Portraits have been shot over a 6month period and all show young creatives. They come from all walks of life, some privilidged some less so but in these pitcures I hoped to capture something of the energy they use in their work. They are veryday photos, taken on the street with no planning. Chance encounters with young adults who are begingin their journeys to become artists. When I reflect on how unsure I was at their age, in each of the pictures I wanted to show their strengths, so they could reflect back on this moment and see that strength coming through. Being an artist is a life choice, a career that takes over every aspect, something that alters your very appearance and can easily overwhelm you. I was afriad to make those choices when I was young and have had to work hard to redifne myself. For me they are already clearly defined.
