This work is a visual representation of the research and images compiled during my quest to discover more about my family history for my thesis. I was met with many stops and starts because of the lack of documentation for the enslaved population of the South. I continuously changed course in order to try to find any amount of solid information which resulted in a shift in coloration and variation of design which highlighted what I was experiencing. If it feels like this images is disjointed or not harmonious but also oddly harmonious, it is a purposeful visual representation of my ancestors mishandled reality. The locations of many of the images in my thesis are from three main states-Alabama, South Carolina, and Georgia.
